Track racing training plan

You have an endurance base race on the track, this plan is going to help you succeed.

Plan length 

Can be up to 6 months, but make sure you have smaller goals leading up to your A event

Benchmarks for success

The benchmark for success will be your 1 min power, but you'll be also developing 5 to 10 min power 

Areas of focus 

Racing on the track requires you to be powerful. You need to be able to lay down the power sharply, there is no messing around. Part of this process, you'll develop the ability to repeat your top end efforts, so your first effort is as good as your last. 

Level of commitment 

This is going to be dependent on the track racing, but typically a race lasts 5 - 60 mins. Therefore you should aim for a minimum of 3-4 hours per week. Remember, in training to to practice riding your top end efforts at race cadence, while holding your race position.
