MTB training plan
You want to target a MTB race that is 30 to 90 mins in length? This is the plan for you.
Can be up to 6 months, but make sure you have smaller goals leading up to your A event
Benchmarks for success
The benchmark for success will be your 5 min power, but you'll be also developing your 20 min power.
Areas of focus
This is a power base plan where you'll develop the ability to start strong (5 min power) and then be able to settle into a strong race (20 min power) where you can recover and look to punch it at the end when everyone is hurting. You'll be loving it and wish it could go on longer.
Level of commitment
This is going to be dependent on your MTB race. However, aim for a minimum of 3-4 hours per week. Remember, you make work on your skills within the training plan as you technically need to be sound.
